Primary 7 enjoyed our ‘Transition to Secondary School’ workshop run by the AmmA Creative Learning Centre today. The pupils got the opportunity to meet Declan Carville, a local author who specialises in writing books for young people about Irish culture and heritage. The workshop was based on the book ‘Nelly Fandango’, which was written by Declan and includes themes related to change, growing up, reflecting and looking forward. The pupils were able to explore these themes through the eyes of the character in the book. The pupils then went on to create their own characters and short story ideas before using a digital animation app to bring their characters to life.
